My first word was “car”, and ever since I’ve had an appreciation for cars, particularly classics. I was first drawn to land rover’s no-nonsense looks of the series/defenders. The more I read and learnt about them and the incredible capabilities , the more I had to have one.
1967 Land Rover series 2a
Only the one (I’m only 18!)
Paddington, named after Paddington bear.
When I bought the car, I had to drive it home from the neighbouring border of NSW along the highway. I quickly learnt that doing 70 kph in a 110 zone on a 4 lane highway would not be appreciated by the other motorists. All my friend and I could do was kill ourselves laughing as various drivers expressed there annoyance with there horns and various hand gestures. This was when Paddington’s charm became apparent.
I added leather hood straps to the bonnet, really cool.
Paddington’s not perfect and he probably never will be, but every him, I have a big smile on my face.
